Celts from Bratislava

More than 2 000 years ago, a Celtic city was located on the territory of today’s Bratislava. This oppidum, about three times larger than the later medieval city, was inhabited by Celts. They called in Roman craftsmen to build them mansions similar to those in Italy. Research in recent years has offered a new perspective on the interpretation of the history not only of Bratislava, but also of the wider area of the middle Danube. With the app “In the Footsteps of the Celts” we can recall many of these times.
