The Friends of Bratislava Association was established with the aim of bringing together lovers, friends and supporters of our capital city. The civic association focuses on promoting the city’s monuments and attractions, as well as preserving and enhancing the cultural and historical values of Bratislava, supporting the aesthetic sense of Bratislava residents, improving and protecting the environment, cultivating a positive relationship with Bratislava and the cultural awareness of its residents. It supports tourism, promoting the history, cultural heritage and monuments of the city at home and abroad.

Since its establishment in 2016, the Friends of Bratislava Association has initiated the publication of a children’s guidebook Celtic Bratislava for the exhibition Celts from Bratislava at Bratislava Castle. In 2018, the Friends of Bratislava Association collaborated on the production of the video “Celts in Bratislava”, supported by the Ars Bratislavensis grant program. The project also included the design and creation of a jigsaw puzzle about the Celts in Bratislava and a map of a Celtic oppidum with stops.

In 2022, the OZPB prepared the mobile application “In the Footsteps of the Celts”, thanks to financial support from the SPP Foundation. The mobile application points out 5 circuits of rare Celtic sites in Bratislava and guides visitors to the capital city of Bratislava through individual sites.

Video Celts in Bratislava

The exhibition The Celts of Bratislava offers visitors an impressive look into the past, to the times when they lived in the city. This is the first ethnic group known by name in our country. In addition to numerous finds (e.g. coin hoards) and the interesting concept of the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to see in the underground space under the courtyard of Bratislava Castle part of the remains of ancient architectures from the 1st. century BC. The exhibition includes a line for children with interactive tasks.
